Just finished having granite counter tops installed in a kitchen (replaced the laminate ones), new cabinet hardware, new light fixtures in all the bathrooms, new tile flooring in the master bathroom (it was carpeted!), and painting through tout (was all white walls). What a transformation. The house is 4,500 sqf and listed for $750K. In this competitive real estate market, laminate counters and carpet in the master bathroom along with brass builder special light fixtures ‘ain’t going to cut it!”
The homeowner invested $9,000, about 1% of the listing price. A price reduction would have been at least $10,000 – $15,000 to make an impact. The Realtor will re-list the home with the upgraded photos. Sure to generate new interest!
